I’m really excited to announce I’ll be doing a recital in Dearborn, MI at the First Presbyterian Church of Dearborn. The recital is an exploration of the 20th century flute repertoire with works representative of some of the major music styles and ways to think about music. I’ll be joined by Melissa Coppola on the piano. We’ll start with Debussy and progress up to Ian Clarke -with some little insights into the context and history surrounding each work.
Before the recital, I’ll be teaching a high school masterclass on how to use extended techniques to become a better flute player (singing and playing is equally useful when learning Mozart as when doing new music). All ability levels are welcome to apply and with any repertoire. No knowledge or experience in new music necessary, just a willingness to try new things. Find more information here.
